Sleeps 10

Hear the wolves howl to the moon as it rises over the Tsitsikamma mountain range whilst sitting around a campfire, and be immersed in nature as you tune in to the spirit of the wolf at the oldest wolf sanctuary in SA.

Nestled between the mountains, Elands River, pine plantations and indigenous forest, the Sanctuary provides a safe haven for wolves. Stay in one of our two rustic wood/hiker cabins or one of our three teepees.

CABINS

The Earth Cabin (queen-bed) and Water Cabin (double-bed) are rustic hiker cabins situated within the Sanctuary. The Earth Cabin shares a garden space with the Water Cabin, situated next door, sharing the bathroom (bath only- no shower), self-catering bush kitchen and outside firepit and seating. If you wish to get the ultimate experience of staying amongst the wolves with mountain views all-round, then this is the place for you. During peak season, from 9am until 4pm daily, the space where the cabins are is a communal space where it doubles up as a visitors area.

After 4pm the space is private with no other Sanctuary day-visitor interference. The Sanctuary is quiet most of the time throughout the year, but in December and January we do expect more visitors; so you can either enjoy the backpacker/communal vibe with us that we create during the season, or use the time to go explore the surrounding areas up in the mountains from us, swim in the Elands River, take a stroll in the indigenous forest, or take your car and venture a little further (no more than a stone's throw) to Stormsriver Village, Garden Route National Park, The Big Tree, Bloukrans Bungy, Canopy Tours, Tsitsikamma Adventures, Nature's Valley and much more. But always know that when you come back, you will return to your cabin to enjoy the peacefulness of the Sanctuary with just you and the wolves. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer and gas stove with basic amenities.and necessary crockery.

There is a braai area and a fire-pit to enjoy the pleasant summer evenings. The space has multiple toilets but currently only one bathroom which is shared between the two cabins. Please do not expect anything fancy.  There is a gas geyser supplying hot water to the bath at all times. The water does stain the bathtub as it comes out red/brown because of the high tannin content, but we can assure you the bath is clean, and the water is fresh river water flowing directly from the mountains.

There is electricity in the cabins supplied by solar.

TEEPEES

There are two teepees to choose from. The Fire teepee has a king-size bed, and the Wind teepee has two single beds, which could also be made up as a king bed upon request. Both teepees do NOT have an electrical point in them, only a solar-charged light. There is a charging station at the outside bush kitchen afew meters away. The teepee guests have access to a shared bush kitchen and ablutions (toilet & hot water shower). These spaces are shared between the two teepees and potential campers. We aim to be eco-conscious and live in harmony with nature by striving for self-sustainability, so again, nothing fancy.  Where we can, we aim to reduce, reuse and recycle. The farm is a fully operational Wolf Sanctuary, and we need to take care of the wolves 24/7, but we do always respect our guest’s privacy.

We cannot accept Swop and Stay bookings during peak seasons - school holidays and public holidays.
