The Red Caboose Train Carriage is a one-of-a-kind, beautifully restored 1941 SAR Caboose carriage that offers accommodation on a train.  

It is situated on Red Earth Farm, 15 km from Robertson and 4 km from McGregor.  

This train accommodation can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children (no under age 6) and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a lovely self-catering kitchen. 

The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the second bedroom is furnished with a bunk bed, ideally suited for 2 children. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, basin, and toilet. Crisp linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is equipped with a bar fridge and freezer, stove, oven, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. There’s a lovely dining area with a comfortable booth for guests to enjoy their meals.  

Outside, guests are spoiled with the wonders of nature surrounding this carriage. Enjoy the gorgeous valley and mountain views from the wood-fired hot tub, and have a braai in the lovely firepit. Guests are afforded secure parking on the premises. The property also has a gazebo with a picnic table.  

The Red Caboose is situated in a great location. It is located within close proximity to Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve, wine farms, Eseltjierus Donkey Sanctuary, and 4 km from McGregor Village, where guests will find wonderful cafés, restaurants, and shops.
