Off the beaten track in the Klein Karoo, there is a place… where dreams take flight over fynbos veld and stars create a symphony.
Moroc-Karoo is situated in the breathtaking Matjiesrivier Valley, at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains, the second largest mountain range in South Africa. It offers comfortable accommodation in a farm environment for your next breakaway with your family and friends, or alone with your significant other.
Our well-appointed old farmhouse is beautifully decorated in a fusion of Karoo, Moroccan, and French styles and can accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 en-suite rooms: 1 with open plan bathroom with Victorian bath, and 2 with showers. All rooms are furnished with a comfortable king-size bed or 2 single beds, and decked with crisp, high quality linen. Each suite has its own entrance, as well as coffee and tea amenities. Scrumptious breakfasts, dinner, or picnic baskets can be arranged at additional cost. Room only and B+B options available. The entire house can be rented or individual suites as required.
The charming freestanding Karoo Provencal is a self-catering, fully-equipped, double storey cottage with breathtaking views. Sleeps 4 guests. The top floor has a bedroom fitted with a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom. The ground floor has a double bed in an open-plan sitting/dining area with a kitchenette. Bedding and towels provided for your convenience.
In summertime, you can lounge around the plunge pool, do some bird watching and stargazing, or enjoy a leisurely walk/hike/drive in the countryside. When the Karoo puts on her snowy winter garb, cozy up to the fireplace in our petite gallery, while sipping on a glass of world renowned port and nibbling on a Moroc-Karoo tapas platter / plate of the day. This is the earthy arty getaway you’ve been dreaming about.
Minimum 2 nights’ stay. Regrettably no children under 12.
Your four-pawed kids are most welcome, but must please be kept on a leash in consideration of other guests and pets.
